Rutgers-Camden Student Julian Naumenko Dies Suddenly at 19

We sadly report the death of Julian Naumenko student of Rutgers University-Camden. He died suddenly at the age of 19.

The Rutgers University-Camden family is mourning the unexpected loss of Julian Naumenko, a 19-year-old student. Julian, in his first year and a talented soccer athlete died creating a void of sportsmanship and local fellowship.

Coming from Hatboro Pennsylvania, Julian was the child of Very Rev. Fr. Taras Naumenko from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA. The church shared its deep sadness and offered sympathy to his kin and buddies recognizing the intense absence his passing has created in the community.

Julian, a top-notch goalie, wrapped up high school at Archbishop Wood in 2024. He rocked as team captain for his varsity soccer crew in two seasons. People noticed Julian’s skills, and he bagged spots on the All-Rookie squad and earned All-PCL nods. He stuck with the Ukrainian Nationals club team for a solid ten years showing his deep roots in his Ukrainian background.

His Rutgers-Camden coach was betting big on Julian’s future giving thumbs up for his agility, boss-level leadership, and his knack for guarding the goal. Julian was all in for nursing, and everyone knew him for his big heart and grit to make waves.

Everybody at the college and around town can’t help but keep Julian in their thoughts. They’re feeling the gap he’s left missing a dude whose future shined crazy bright.

Ukrainian Selfreliance FCU had this to say:

Our UKRFCU team and family extends its condolences to the Naumenko Family on the loss of their beloved son and brother, Julian Naumenko. Our prayers are with Julian’s mother and our dear colleague, Laura, his father Very Rev. Fr. Taras Naumenko, his sister Alexis, and the entire Naumenko family during this difficult time.
