Protesters Flood VP Event, Disrupt Kamala-Walz After-party
Palestinian protesters made a clash with the NYC police force on Wednesday while trying to challenge democratic leaders at the after-party of Vice President Kamala Harris.
In the video, there were well over 100 pro-Palestinian protesters chanting, banging drums, and waving banners outside the Harlem restaurant where the campaign event took place, disputing attendees with chants and sounds.
The protesters had set off smoke bombs and reportedly caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to the venue’s outdoor space, shortly after Mayor Eric and NY Governor Kathy had approved the Harris-Walz ticket. Several demonstrators barged into the restaurant at one point, interrupting the Mayor’s speech, screaming “You set Palestine on fire” and calling for a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.
The NYC police department has been able to subdue the situation and led away a few of the protesters from the event in cuffs.
Following the video, many people are not pleased about the protest at the after-party. Here is what a few have to say:
Freed Omring reacted “I’ve yet to hear these people condemn Oct 7th or even ACT like they have any love for the ones killed and the ones taken hostage let alone the ones who were r*ped!! I’ve got no love for that crowd.”
Talia commented, They act as if Kamala is Hamas and she has the power to end the war.”
Sherry Dekeyzer reacted “They 100% deserve every bit of that. That is who the @DNC has supported for years. They even got some of them out of jail. Poetic justice.”
Rocks reacted “If the situation is so bad that cops need to guard the place and people it shows serious ACTION must be taken against Hamas sympathisers. When will they act?”
Nihil also commented “Where were the rest of the 39,000 protesters?”
Ragnarok lobster commented “Yes, the whole world is watching……a bunch of bitter white leftists making fools of themselves in the streets”
So far, the Kamala-Walz campaign is yet to talk about the issue, as it’s not clear which group organised the protest.
