Netizens React As American Soldier Travis King Accepts Desertion Charge After Entering North Korea

As for the latest twist, it was reported that the American soldier, Travis King, who earlier made news around the world by entering North Korea in July 2023, has pleaded guilty to desertion, among other charges. 

Who is Travis King?

Travis King is an American soldier who was born on April 6, 1999. He made the headlines in the international news when he crossed over into North Korea while on tour in 2023. A member of the U.S. Army with the 1st Armored Division, King was stationed in South Korea. 

King had some disciplinary issues in the past before crossing over, and many speculated about his mental state. His actions involuntarily gave way to major diplomatic discussions in the U.S.-North Korea relations and the treatment of American detainees.
