Netizens React As American Soldier Travis King Accepts Desertion Charge After Entering North Korea

For Americans who have been following up with the news of the American Soldier, Travis King, as far back as 2023, what you are about to read will come as a shocker, especially if you always feel that he was a man who sought justice. 

As for the latest twist, it was reported that the American soldier, Travis King, who earlier made news around the world by entering North Korea in July 2023, has pleaded guilty to desertion, among other charges. 

Who is Travis King?

Travis King is an American soldier who was born on April 6, 1999. He made the headlines in the international news when he crossed over into North Korea while on tour in 2023. A member of the U.S. Army with the 1st Armored Division, King was stationed in South Korea

King had some disciplinary issues in the past before crossing over, and many speculated about his mental state. His actions involuntarily gave way to major diplomatic discussions in the U.S.-North Korea relations and the treatment of American detainees.

The Guilty Plea and Charges.

In a recent court-martial, King confessed to desertion, assault, and disobeying the order of his superior officer. His desertion charge, in particular, has much more evidence behind it because it directly ties into his illegal immigration into North Korea. 

Also, the assault charge regarding him is interpreted from the other incidents of aggression he displayed to his colleagues while he was being ferried from the South Korean authorities to his station.

Following the criminal act by Travis King, a lot of Netizens have expressed their dissatisfaction with the conduct of the American Soldier. Many have called out that he should face the cold hands of justice for his criminal act.
