Menendez Brothers Case : The Fight For Freedom
Lyle and Erik Menendez count as they await a day their innocence will be proven after being convicted of murder. Their case has been stirring up conversations lately while the brothers hope new evidence will help reopen their case and get out of jail term.
Lyle and Erik Menendez Profiles
Born Lyle Joseph Menendez on January 10, 1968, and Erik Galen Menendez on November 27, 1970, American brothers also called the Menendez Brothers, who were convicted of first-degree murder in 1996 of their parents, José and Mary Louise Kitty Menendez.
The two brothers have been behind bars for more than thirty years in California for the 1989 killing of their biological parents, José and Mary Louise Kitty Menendez. They were convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison in the notorious case that captured the nation’s attention. Now, the brothers are hoping that new evidence will reopen their case and set them free.
How Did The Event Happen?
Lyle had some years back, innocently confessed to Diane Vander Molen of his father’s sexual abuse towards him who in turn went to their mother, Kitty telling her what her son told her. Kitty sided with her husband claiming Lyle was lying.
Following Lyle’s innocent confession, he was moved upstairs and the abuse came to an end for some time. Their mother’s eldest sister Joan Vander-Molen confirmed the sexual abuse allegations in a 2017 interview but Milton Anderson, a brother to Kitty Menendez denied the allegations calling it a bullshit.
The two brothers successfully killed their parents on the evening of August 20, 1989, when they were watching TV.
José was shot six times and Kitty ten times with Mossberg 12-gauge gunshots. Having released what they had done, Lyle and Erik waited for the police to come to their home not without lying that they were at the movie theatre watching Batman and also attending the Taste of L.A. festival at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.
A few months after the death of their parents, the brothers began to spend lavishly on luxury items, expensive vacations, business trips, and travels. Their activities raised suspicion before they were arrested separately. Lyle was arrested on March 8, 1990, and Erik turned himself in three days later after returning to Los Angeles from Israel. Both were held without bail and jailed separately.

@SirenAsMR commented “They need to change the law on emotional abuse towards kids and people. There need to be more resources for this…but if they had the support they needed to get away from their parents, they might have never killed anyone”
@Pommiesbear also reacted “They weren’t given a chance to actually be believed. The press was literally mocking their testimony.”
@IAmWithinEverything also commented “Mental abuse holds one a prisoner regardless of how old they are”
@calisuds9830 also commented “It was motivated by greed but by the district attorney’s office Gil Garcetti. Political power is an animal of itself.
Free these boys, the evidence is very powerful. I follow the story. The music industry freaks off drugs and sex trafficking is real.
These Brazilian trips are fishy. Boy band.
The Menendez Brothers are survival of many facets of injustice”
