Hudson Valley Remembers Beloved Photographer Grant Scully
In tragic news, a prominent New York Photographer, Grant who was well-loved with the Hudson Valley FB group passed.
Grant was known for promoting and celebrating U.S. art and culture hence capturing invaluable moments with his cameras.
The Hudson Valley Group made this heartbreaking announcement of their socials. According to reports, he was 67 years old when he passed. His death happened a day before the new year, the 30th of December, 2024.
The post from Hudson Valley reads:
We’re deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of Grant Scully. He was an early member of The Hudson Valley group, and by far the group’s most prolific member. His photography set a standard of the kind of images we should strive to capture – ones that truly highlight the beauty of our region. His drive and passion for our place in the world will be missed. His work lives on in our group. Any time you’d like to see it, simply look up his name to see the posts that he shared, they’ll always be here. Included with this post are a number of his more recent photos – the first being the last photo he shared with us, days ago. Be sure to share his work with a friend, and any words that you’d like to say about him in the comments.
Grant no doubt was a very talented artist and had a knack for spotting the coolest of places in the valley. More importantly, he shared his work with thousands of eyes who indeed appreciated and gave him his accolades.
Rockland Report in Rockland County, New York also paid tribute to the talented photographer in their social media post.

We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Rockland resident and an extraordinary photographer Grant Scully, 67, of Piermont.
Grant’s photos captured the beauty and character of Rockland County and the lower Hudson Valley. He was dedicated to showing the Hudson Valley, we had the honor of sharing many of his photos on this page. Three photos below are by Grant that we have shared in the past.
