Fact Check: Hope Walz and the $82K Student Loan Forgiveness Rumor Debunked
Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz daughter – Hope Walz has been in the spotlight recently due to a particular post on a Facebook page – America – Love it Or Leave it.
The page has made a post claiming that the U.S.Vice President’s running mate’s daughter, Hope Walz has received the sum of $82,000 in Student Loan forgiveness. The post further made claims that Hope Walz’s parents were allegedly worth $182 million.
The caption had made many Facebook users assume that the post was real. The post eventually finds its way to X.
Special investigators swung into action, finding the culprit behind the post and it was said that the account was a parody and was run by an individual with the name Busta Troll.
All these allegations are proved to be fake as the account is known for posting unrealistic events to make people laugh while having a concise intention.
Who is Hope Walz?
23 year old Hope Walz is the eldest of the Walz children.. Her father, Tim Walz, had worked as a coach and teacher where he met with their children’s mother while teaching at the same school. Hope Walz attended Mankato West High School; the same school her parents taught in.
In 2019, Governor Tim Walz made a post on Facebook expressing how proud he was as his daughter was having senior prom at Mankota.
In 2023, Hope Walz graduated from Montana State University as her father took to his X account to celebrate her while expressing his happiness about watching her accomplish greater things in the future. Even though Hope Walz graduated from the university in 2023, she has yet to make a post on where she majored.
Hope Walz now works as a social worker at a homeless shelter in Bozeman.
Hope Walz Student Loan
No publicly available evidence to prove that Hope Walz actually collected the student loan forgiveness. Additional information from Walz 2023 tax return shows that Tim Walz and wife had an overall income of $299,000.
The couple currently live in a rental apartment paid for by the state while the governor’s mansion is under renovation.
