In a sad report, a 16-year-old student at Clarence High School in New York, Daniel Bechtel, has died after an electric motorcycle crash.
Although the time of the crash has not been released to the public by the authorities, we can confirm the crash happened in the week of August 4th-8th, 2025, and later died on Thursday, the 7th of August, 2025.
Per reports reaching us, he died after he was taken off life support. The accident occurred in a parking lot off Transit Road, close to Famous Footwear. The police report explains that the 16-year-old’s bike crashed into a grass divider (also known as a grassy median), all the while not putting on a helmet.
Daniel was taken to the hospital after first responders swung swiftly to the scene. Reports say Daniel suffered a head injury and later passed away in the hospital after he was taken off life support.
No doubt, the school has been thrown into mourning with many remembering him as someone who works hard with a big heart.
His dad, Mark Bechtel, has penned a very emotional tribute via his social media account, describing that Daniel was full of joy, humor, and had an irreplaceable passion for sports. Mark also explained that he was a hero even in death, as his organs were donated to save others in need.

His organs will go on to live in others who need them. I take some comfort in that. That’s how I will remember him, a hero who donated his heart to someone who has been waiting.
The school has set up grief counseling for any student and staff who need to deal with the tragic loss.
