Tom Daley was born in 1994 to Robert and Debbie Daley. He was born in Devon, England. Tom Daley has two younger brothers William and Ben Daley. Tom Daley got hooked on diving by watching Canadian diver Alexandre Despatie and British Diver Leon Taylor. These were his diving heroes and the ones who made him pursue his career as a diver. He would later be mentored by Leon Taylor. Tom Daley’s talent for diving is astonishing. At the age of 9, he was already winning medals in various minor diving events. He was a student of Eggbuckland Community College, Plymouth but he was withdrawn temporarily from the school by his dad because of the school’s lack of response to Tom being bullied.

Tom Daley’s Dad Robert Daley was a major supporter of the young diver. Robert endeavored to encourage his son and helped him to pursue his dream as a professional diver. However, reality, as cruel as it is, robbed Robert’s chance of seeing Tom’s career through. Robert Daley was diagnosed with a brain tumor and lost his life in 2011. He had wanted to see his son perform on stage in the Olympics. However, he died a year earlier and Daley himself gave an outstanding performance in the 2012 Olympics platform event, bringing home the bronze medal.
