Vybz Kartel is a popular name in the music industry who started his musical career in 1993 and rose to fame after having a string of hit music in Jamaica.
Vybz Kartel walked out a free man from prison on 31st July after the court decided on a retrial of a murderer case of Clive Williams and releasing an entire album in less than 24 hours, Vybz Kartel has been facing his health at home with his doctor. Even though Vybz Kartel is out of prison, the fight for his health remains as he almost didn’t make it.

What to know about Grave disease
Grave disease usually affects the thyroid gland causing it to produce more thyroid that the body needs which usually results in many of the body functions to race fast. Vybz Kartel is reported to have been battling with this disease even when he was in prison. His doctor, Dr. Karen Phillips had sworn statement in the court that Vybz Kartel heart function was way below normal which can cause him to have a heart attack or result in death in sleep. His illness is a contributing factor that got him released as he won’t be able to complete the long sentence.
Vybz Kartel Reactions to the Diagnosis
Vybz Kartel, during an interview with a media outlet, had told them that he will be starting his health care at home with his doctor.
“Healthwise, you know I’m working on my health right now, but the feeling of just being free is just an amazing feeling,” Kartel said.
When asked how he was feeling physically, Kartel said he could be better.
“I could be better, but I’m super upbeat,”… He says he’s already bought a bike and a treadmill as part of his new health routine. When he was behind bars, Dr. Karen Phillips was only allowed to see him four times a year. Vybz Kartel mentioned in an exclusive interview that his doctor will put him on a special diets so she could monitor him closely.
So far, vybz Kartel has been putting much effort on his health while walking the streets of his island with his fiancée, friends and family.
