The entertainment world is in shock as the news of the passing of actor and motorcycle racer Chad McQueen has spread. As the son of legendary actor Steve McQueen, Chad made his mark on the industry with his natural charm and talent.

Born Chadwick Steve McQueen on December 28, 1960, was an only son to Steve McQueen and Niele Adams. Chad McQueen was an American actor, martial artist, movie director, and race car driver. At age 9, Chad began to show interest in automobiles and other interests like his father, began the dirty bike race, and three years later, he won his class in the World Mini Grand Prix.  His parents were married from 1956 until their 1972 divorce. 

Chadwick Steve McQueen began his acting career playing Dutch in the Karate Kid Part 1 and 2. He also starred in other action movies like Death Ring, Red Line, and Martial Law. Chad also worked as a producer for his documentary titled Filming at Speed and won the Telly Award for this documentary. After taking a final break from acting, Chad McQueen made several appearances on television programmes related to sports racing.

During the peak of Chad McQueen’s racing career, he sustained an injury breaking his lower left leg, two fractures in his vertebrae, and multiple rib fractures in an accident in January 2006 while he was practising the 24 hours of Daytona Sports Car Race. After his slight recovery in November 2007, he returned to Daytona International Speedway. In 2010, he started McQueen Racing LLC, a racing company that partners with the automobile industry towards the development of limited edition race cars, motorbikes, and accessories. 

What Did Chad McQueen Die Of? 

63-year-old Chad McQueen died of organ failure on Wednesday, September 10, 2024, after his injury in 2020 at his residence in Palm Desert. He was reported to have never fully recovered since that horrible accident. 

His two children; Chase and Madison took to their Instagram account and wrote; 

“His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering commitment to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and dedication. His passion for racing not only highlighted his exceptional talent but also served as a way to honour his father’s legacy, a testament to the values instilled in him.” 

“He passed his passion, knowledge and dedication down to us, and we will continue not only his legacy but our grandfather’s as well. As a family, we need to navigate this difficult time, and we kindly ask for privacy as we remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”

Chad McQueen is survived by his first wife, actress Stacey Toten, with whom he had one child, Steven McQueen, who is also an actor and his second wife, Jeanie; with whom he had a son, Chase, and a daughter, Madison.
