A plane has crashed in Rochester, New York, Northeastern United States, on Friday, the 1st of August, 2025.
A small aircraft, a Piper J-5 Cub Cruiser, plunged into a road close to Maplewood Park. The crash site is near Maplewood Drive and Bridge View Drive and occurred minutes after 1:30 p.m.
Per multiple reports, the crash resulted in the death of one of the pilots, who was pronounced dead at the crash site, while the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries. First responders were prompt in responding, closing up the area for cleanup and investigation.
At the time of writing this article, authorities, including the Rochester Police Department, are investigating the cause of the crash, deciphering if technical issues were part of the reasons the plane crashed.
Federal agencies like the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have also joined in the investigation process.
Again, at the time of writing this article, it is unclear where the place was coming from or the destination. Authorities are yet to release the identities of the pilot in the crash.
