Riley Keough recently told Oprah something very sad about her mom; Lisa Marie Presley. She said Lisa Marie had a feeling that something bad was going to happen to her grandfather, Elvis, on the day he died. This news came very shocking because Lisa Marie was very close with her dad.
Elvis Presley was a famous singer, and he was very important to his daughter. So when he died, Lisa Marie was very sad and she had to deal with a lot of pain.
Lisa Marie’s Early Life
Lisa Marie Presley born on February 1, 1968 was an only child to singer and actor Elvis Presley and actress Priscilla Presley. She was also an American singer and the heir apparent to her father’s estate after the death of her grandparents during her 25th birthday.
After her parents separated when she was 4, Lisa lived with her mother in Los Angeles and frequently lived with her father at Graceland in Memphis. Following the death of her father in August, 1977, 9-year-old Lisa became a joint heiress to her father’s estate with her grandparents. In 1977, Lisa made a video of ‘Don’t cry daddy’ as a posthumous duet with her father which was later presented on August 16,1997at a tribute concert marking the 20th anniversary of Elvis Presley death. The video contains Elvis’ original vocal to the new instrumentation and Lisa Marie’s vocals

Riley, an eldest daughter of Lisa who is now an award winning actress, the only heir to Graceland and last bloodline to Elvis Presley mentioned that her mother Lisa was in the middle of completing her memoir before her death of which she [Riley] has finished. The memoir – From Here To The Great Unknown is officially out and now in Oprah’s Book club pick.
To celebrate the book release and its being chosen for Oprah’s Book Club, the two came together at Graceland for a conversation about the Presley family which aired on October 8.

● Riley mentioned that her mother wrote the memoir through voice recordings but find its the process quite difficult.
● Graceland was a haven, Lisa felt free.
● Lisa was so close to her father that she felt she didn’t spend much time with him. Which was why Elvis’ death hit her so hard.
● Lisa struggled a lot with opioid addiction after the birth of her twin daughters Harper and Finley.
● The whole family was worried for Lisa before her death.
● The book title has a double meaning – From Here to the Great Unknown was inspired by a lyric from “Where No One Stands Alone,” a song Lisa Marie sang with her father in a posthumous duet. Riley also choose it because of it’s hidden message in losing loved ones
“Having two family members who have passed away, a lot of that time and grief has been spent wondering about where they are,” she said. “The perspective I choose to have is that they’re on to a new adventure.
