Tragic: Nathan Morris Canton MI Dad Shot by Neighbor
Nathan Morris, a 35-year-old father of two daughters was shot dead on a Saturday morning after a heated argument with his neighbor, Devereaux Christopher Johnson, who has been charged with first-degree murder with parole.
The suspect had initially threatened the victim’s family after their daughter touched Christopher’s Mulch. The late victim had told his family to go home while he tried to calm the situation at hand. Little did Nathan Morris knowthat that would be his last time speaking to his family.

Witnesses who saw the terrifying situation gave information that Nathan Morris had suffered
from multiple gunshots. Nathan Morris was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where
he eventually gave up the ghost. After the shooting, Christopher locked himself indoors
before he later surrendered to the police, chanting “Praise to God Almighty”.
Christopher has been severally accused of assaulting his neighbours, and police officers and
also had a criminal record of sexual conduct charges from the 90s. The Canton Police Chief
has termed the shooting as a senseless act of violence. Nathan Morris is survived by his wife
and two daughters.

A GoFundMe campaign has been instituted to help garner donations for the family and the
responses from kind donors have been massive and so encouraging. In curtailing the effects
of any financial burdens on the family, the GoFundMe initiative becomes necessary to see to
the filling of the vacuum of the death of Nathan.

The Canton Police Department sends their heartfelt sympathy to the family of the victim and
to their neighbors who might have witnessed the tragic event —Chad Baugh.
Nathan is one of those few guys who are near perfect. He would not harm and think no harm.
