Loved ones, family, friends, and colleagues of the 27-year-old victim of the NYC office shooting paid their last respects to Julia Hyma.

All were gathered at the Central Synagogue in Midtown Manhattan on the 30th of July, 2025, to bid a final farewell to  Julia Hyma, who was a victim of a tragic shooting in the Midtown office shooting.

Julia has been referred to as one who brings light to any room she enters. Mourners further explained that she is kind, friendly, loving, goal-driven, and more importantly, loyal.

Friends in their tribute explained how she stayed at the office late and was never a person to leave work or any task halfway. Her uncle, in his tribute, referred to her as “luminous” and undoubtedly “full of promise”.

A colleagues statement of social media reads:

I’m deeply disheartened by the tragic event that occurred at my job, taking the life of one of our colleagues.

I didn’t have the opportunity to work with Julia, as she was in a different department. But after hearing all the beautiful things her friends and family shared during today’s funeral service, it’s clear that Julia was a bright light who touched many lives with her kind and loving heart.

Julia Hyman, you will forever be remembered for the impact you had on so many. 😥

Cherish the time you do have which is this very moment, and cherish the people in your life. ❤️

Julia Hyma was a graduate of Cornell University. She was a fast-rising and promising star at the Rudin Management. No doubt, her star was cut short. May she find rest in the world beyond.
