Lake Champlain Boat Crash Update, Wes Logan Battles Serious Injuries
Wes Logan hails from; Springville, Alabama, from reports, he is a professional bass fisherman. Per reports, he suffered a horrible boating accident on Lake Champlain.
Again, reports have it that the accident occurred during the Tackle Warehouse Bassmaster Elite tournament. The accident occurred on the 2nd day of the competition. Logan’s objective was to secure a spot in the Bassmaster Classic. Instead, he ended up in a life-threatening situation that resulted in serious injuries.
According to reports, the life-threatening accident happened around 8:45 a.m while Logan was navigating across the lake toward a new fishing spot, an unexpected collision occurred.
Though he was not speeding—traveling at roughly 50 mph—Logan’s boat suddenly struck an object in the water, likely debris from a dock or walkway dislodged by a recent storm.
The force of the impact was so intense that it tore the 250-horsepower motor from the boat, causing the vessel to spin in a full 360-degree turn.
According to reports, Logan hit his head on the gunnel and his chin on the grab handle as he was thrown with force to the side of the boat.
Logan sustained injuries to his head and chin, he was rushed to a local hospital after he contacted the director of the B.A.S.S tournament. A total of 17 stitches to his injuries on his forehead and jawline.
Logan, a resilient man determined to finish the tournament was back on the water after a few hours in the hospital. He caught his fifth fish which was expedient for maintaining his standing in the competition.
During a moment of reflection, Logan expressed his appreciation to the first responders and the hospital staff for coming to his rescue and saving his life from being lost.
“I’m lucky to be alive,” he said, as he urged everyone to love life’s moments and the tides can change in a minute.
