The community of Waunakee has been thrown into mourning after the tragic demise of their beloved Kevin Abercrombie.
Kevin passed earlier this week, precisely, on Tuesday, the 5th of August, 2025. He was a softball coach whom the community loved and respected. Kevin was also a mentor, a beloved and committed member of the local community.
Per outpouring tributes from family, lovers, and students, he gave his total commitment to the Waunakee softball program. His passing has no doubt left a void that will be felt greatly by members of the community.
Kevin’s commitment to the Waunakee Softball Program transcended beyond coaching; he was particular about the kids winning in life and helping them navigate life’s tough huddles. He went as far as giving sometimes unpaid hours to the Waunakee Youth Program.
The community remembers him as an icon who was no doubt selfless in his service to the children and the community at large.
Waunakee Softball has taken to social media to pay tribute, referring to Kevin as a “cornerstone of the Waunakee Softball Community.”
