Vice President Kamala Harris finally accepted the Democratic Nomination for President on Thursday while making her stance known as she supports Israel and to put an end to the Gaza War.
“Now is the time to get a hostage deal and a ceasefire deal done, and let me be clear, I will always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself.”
“What has happened in Gaza over the past 10 months is devastating. So many innocent lives lost, desperate hungry people fleeing for safety over and over again. The scale of suffering is heartbreaking…”
Toward the end of her speech, she drew a line with the republican Donald Trump for bowing down to his dictators. In her words, she said “In the enduring struggle between democracy and tyranny, I know where I stand and I know where the United States belongs,”
Kamala Harris described the November 5 election as an opportunity to move past the bitterness, mistrust, and divisive battles of the past. Harris drew a series of differences with Donald Trump reproaching him for not defending the middle class, planning to make law for tax hikes through his tariff proposal, and also wanting to put an end to constitutional rights to abortion.
Kamala Harris has been a long supporter of women’s right to abortion as she plays an important role in Biden’s campaign effort to make abortion right central to the 2024 election.
