The Hamilton Fire Department and the city of Centerville, Ohio, were left in tears and a devastating heartbreak after the sudden passing of Lt. Tony Manfredi.
Lieutenant Tony Manfredi was a respected firefighter for the Hamilton Fire Department. According to reports, Tony passed suddenly in his home while he was off duty. This incident has left the family, department, and the community at large devastated.
Lt. Manfredi has spent over 20 years in the force and has many times been admired for his courage, honesty, and, more importantly, his compassion. Through the years, he has protected the community, guided, and trained younger firefighters.
The Hamilton Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 20 announced the passing via their social media page. In their post, they described the selfless work of Tony, explaining he served with “unwavering commitment to protecting the community.”
The post reads:
It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Hamilton Fire Lieutenant Tony Manfredi while off duty at his home. Tony was an exceptional member of Hamilton Fire/IAFF Local 20 having served with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to protecting our community.
We extend our deepest condolences to Tony’s family, friends, and loved ones. May the memories of his strength, humor, and character bring comfort in the days ahead. As we grieve together, please know that our fire family stands ready to offer strength and support during this difficult time.

Many have come out in their numbers to pay tribute to the fallen hero, many described him as a mentor, a friend, and no doubt a role model.
A tribute from one of his former students reads, “He taught us what it truly means to wear the title of firefighter.”
Lieutenant Manfredi is survived by his wife and beautiful children. At the time of writing the article, the family is making plans for his funeral and would communicate with the public, although they ask for privacy during this difficult time.
