Bend Soap Founder, Dwight Johnson Dies in Tree Trimming Accident

Tragically, we report the demise of Dwight Johnson, an industrious individual founder, and CEO of Bend Soap Company.

According to reports, Johnson whose company is a specialist in goat milk soap production died in a devastating tree-trimming home accident. 

His wife, Marilee Johnson, took to social media on Monday, January 6th, 2025, to pay tribute to her husband.

She detailed the accident in her post. According to reports, Dwight Johnson was working in the yard with three of his sons when he tried to pull a branch out of the way. 

In his attempt to do so, the log broke and hit his head, sustaining a severe head injury as he died at the scene.

Her statement reads:

I just haven’t known how to say this…but I know, by seeing and hearing from all of you that your hearts are grieving and aching with us.

Two days ago, the man of my dreams, the father of my children, the most wonderful man I’ve ever known was ushered into glory: My beloved husband Dwight. He was being his usual helping self, taking 3 of his sons with him to work on a project at his cousin’s place. In his typical take-charge manner, he decided to pull on a simple branch that was in the way. The branch broke loose, he fell back and it hit him in the head as he hit the ground. He was gone in an instant, even though those there worked tirelessly to revive him (my hero’s!!).

We are all shocked, devastated and in utter denial still that he’s gone forever. I keep thinking the Lord will breathe life back into him (like he did with Lazarus!), and Dwight will just walk in the door like he does so many times a day (going back and forth throughout every day getting things done… and coming home to touch base with us).

This great void feels unbearable and unimaginable right now. How can we just go on without him? The ache of seeing and hearing the pain from my children who have lost their father. I’m devastated for them. Oh my darlings…

I go back and forth all day fighting to hold on and graciously accepting the peace God is offering. I want him back! We want him to be a part of the next 50 years – we were so looking forward to … so much. And yet slowly slowing God is showing me that He has a plan for us despite

I am so proud of my sons …they have their Daddy’s strength and confidence and are already knowing and trusting God’s hand in this. Our great God is being faithful.

Johnson was an incurable lover of natural products. He founded the ‘Bend company’ after one of his sons had eczema. He discovered a more natural way to cure the chronic inflammatory skin condition with goat milk and, hence, stuck with using more natural ways to make soap as an alternative to ‘chemically infested soaps’.

Johnson’s Bend Company released a statement announcing the sudden death of its founder and CEO.

The statement reads:

It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden and tragic loss of Dwight Johnson, the founder of Bend Soap Company, on Saturday. Dwight was not only the visionary behind Bend Soap but also an incredible husband, father, and friend to so many. His faith, kindness, and unwavering dedication to helping others were evident in everything he did, including the business he, his wife and his children built to serve families like yours.

While working on a project with his sons, Dwight suffered an unexpected accident and passed away instantly despite heroic efforts to save him. Our hearts are shattered, and the void he leaves behind is beyond words. His legacy, however, will live on through his family, his work, and the countless lives he touched.

During this time, we invite you to join us in praying for his wife, Marilee, their 10 children, and everyone mourning this immense loss.

Dwight’s faith in God’s plan was unshakeable, and his family continues to find strength and peace in that faith even in the midst of such unimaginable pain.
