Anthonaya Campbell lost her life when she was shot and killed during a community basketball event at Haffen Park.
She has a lovely nickname “Ming Ming” which friends gave to her due to her charismatic way that she always lightens up the mood and day of others.
Anthonaya lived a life full of hopes and dreams, she left an impression on loved ones with her laughter, her generosity, and the way she helped raise the spirits of everyone around her.
She was a selfless, loving and inspirational individual.
This event has left neighbours and loved ones in a disorganized state. A memorial service is being organized to honor her life and will be used as a means to demand change in the community.
The Haffen Park will be the location for the memorial, which has been decorated with notes, balloons, and candles.
Family members are requesting donations to groups working to reduce gun violence and support young individuals. Her absence leaves a hole in the hearts of all community members.
