Young Man Killed in Wegmans Warehouse Shooting, Suspect Caught in Tennessee

Tragedy was the order of the day at the Wegmans warehouse in Gates, New York, when a 25-year-old J’Mere Ridley-Smith was brutally shot.

Per reports from the authorities, the tragedy occurred on Saturday, the 26th of July, 2025. Authorities have made an arrest and have one suspect in custody, a 32-year-old. Kyshonn Green.

Police Statement

Green was a co-worker of the victim. He was arrested the next day after fleeing the scene in Knoxville, Tennessee. Per reports from the authorities, Green, upon his arrest, was carrying a loaded gun.

Many have hit social media to express grief; Wegmans has called J’Mere “a valued team member.” Others have described him as peaceful, family-oriented, and hardworking. His grieving mother explained his personality, saying, “He just did his job and supported me,” as she tried holding back her tears.

Although investigations are still going on, however, the suspect, Green, is now awaiting extradition back the New York.
