Puka Nacua Injury Raises Concerns After Rams’ Loss to Lions

Puka Nacua, over the weeks, sustained some injuries in his leg and this had however prevented him from participating in games ever since. In the course of the week, it was discovered that the health condition of Nacua had worsened significantly and had dealt a blow to the performance of the club.

Who is Nacua? 

Born Makea Puka Nacua on May 29, 2001, is a Professional football wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. The pseudonym Puka means fat and chubby in Samoan due to his big size as a baby. Puka Nacua finished his senior year with 260 catches, 5,226 receiving yards, and 58 receiving touchdowns, all of which are Utah state records.

 During his freshman season in college, Puka Nacua played the first eight games and caught seven passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns before suffering a broken foot. In 2021, Nacua transferred to BYU where he caught 43 passes for 805 yards and six touchdowns in his first season.  He got selected by the Rams in the fifth season to play in the 2023 NFL draft where he set rookie records for his receiving yards and reception.

Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Ram star was taken out of the field while playing against Detroit Lions on Sunday and also closing the game by 26-20. He sustained an injury while in a game where he attempted a catch some minutes into the second quarter of their loss to the Lions. He came off the field while in pain in his legs and headed to the medical Nacua came back to the game without taking long and eventually had to come off the game. In the Sunday game, Nacua conceded four catches before sustaining the leg injury. He had four catches for 35 yards in Sunday’s game before the injury.
