Tragic Costa Coffee Allergy Death Sparks Outrage
This disturbing topic has been trending for a while, especially on X. It has been the centre of discussion regarding the death of a teenage girl who had died due to her reactions to dairy products. The victim’s mother is currently mourning the loss of her child whose life was short-lived to a terrifying accident . The accident has opened the eyes of many, mostly those who find themselves in similar situations. As the hour ticks, everyone holds their breath, questioning the fragility of life.
What Happened To Hannah Jacobs?
Hannah Jacobs is said to suffer from severe dairy allergy and had died a few hours after ingesting a hot chocolate from the high street chain on February 8, 2023. Hannah Jacobs had died after taking a single sip from the Costa Coffee hot chocolate drink. The drink was confirmed to have some traces of cow milk. A post-mortem examination found Hannah died after suffering a hypersensitive anaphylactic reaction that was triggered by an ingredient in her drink that caused an allergic response.
The Costa Coffee Accident
Ms. Abimbola Duyile narrated how she had ordered two takeaway soya hot chocolate from the coffee chain. The bereaved mother also said that she had been fastidious about telling the coffee chain that her daughter is allergic to dairy products and they needed to clean their equipment before making her daughter’s. Hannah Jacobs rarely ate out but Costa was one of the few places Hannah felt safe to order from, Ms Duyile said.
Two weeks later, upon investigation into Hannah Jacobs death concluded that the teenage girl died as a result of failure to follow the processes in place to discuss allergies.” . The investigation further mentioned that the chocolate may have been made with cow’s milk and that Ms Duyile was not shown the allergen book. It was also noted that Hannah had not been carrying her prescribed EpiPen.
In Ms. Abimbola word, she mentioned that the death of her daughter has been like living in a nightmare as she was very angry, and she wants the world to know of allergies reactions
